What Do Spiritual Qualities Have to Do with Creative Success?

 Children are naturally creative. When I was a child, I would turn my sandbox into the shores of an ocean, a digging paradise, a kitchen that only required water for making mud pies. I would play pioneer in the local swamp and was sure that my stick weapons defeated pirates extraordinaire.

 Energetically, creativity is associated with the second chakra. Located in the abdomen, this orange energy centers swirls with our feelings and creative impulses. Within is our sensuality, the ability to taste, touch, and sense the world. Here lies the enteric nervous system, or gut brain, that runs 80 percent of our immune system and our programmed reactions to what we’re going through. Even more important, through this sphere we perform alchemy.

Our second chakra is a cauldron of creativity. We mix our senses, empathy, and feelings and what springs forth but magic—brand new creations that have never appeared on this planet.

 At one level, everyone’s spiritual purpose requires the use of their second chakra. Your soul is here to innovate, implement, inspire, ignite, or influence. That is the fundamental task of the second chakra. There is no way that your offerings to the world are repetitive of anything that has come before or will ever again be duplicated. We are each an extension of the Oneness and totally unique. No one can manufacture what is yours to make.

How do we keep this potentially exhaustive process going? Bonding you to the Oneness are spiritual qualities attuned to you and only you.

When you draw upon these beams that emanate from the Oneness, like Faith, Hope, Love, and Truth, you’re automatically reinvigorated. You can continually reinvent yourself, offering creative services extraordinary to you. Simultaneously, these free-flowing virtues will  out negative programs and toxins. You are impassioned with passion.

 So, why is it so easy to get stuck? To lose the way? To feel down and depressed instead of brimming with excitement? To get blocked even when we’re drawn to express and create?

 Trauma. Pain. Energetic interference. Family secrets. Rules that we gather as if we’re tumbleweeds floating along a sandy desert picking up dirt and debris…tumbleweeds unable to plant or grow seeds.

 As for myself, somewhere along the line, I let my parents’ rigid responses to my imagination turn into prison bars. “We don’t play in the mud,” mom admonished. “Sand belongs outside,” insisted dad. “No one can make a living building sandcastles to the sky,” they both said when I insisted I wanted to go to college to study writing.

It doesn’t matter the words used, I’m sure you relate.

 What age do you believe you stopped believing in your own creative magic? The fountain of joy that is the second chakra?

 I think that chakras operate on the Law of 50 Percent. They can function until they hit 51 percent shutdown. At that point, a chakra flounders. We flounder. In terms of our second chakra, we might get a bright idea, feel compelled to follow a Eureka! But we can’t summon the energy to follow through, much less move through the inevitable roadblocks.

 Michelangelo once said that his job as an artist was to free the angel from the stone slab containing it. What block of reality are you meant to chisel, hammer, and sculpt?

 The good news about The Law of 50 Percent is that you don’t have to eliminate every trauma and hardship preventing you from fully employing your second chakra powers. Once you reduce the blockage to 49 percent, you’re home free. You can pursue your inner dreams, and your actions will eliminate the rest of the problems.

 Following is an easy exercise to bring any second chakra impasse any creative to that 49 percent mark. It will help you pull the spiritual qualities you must run on through your second chakra.

1. Recognize that you are a spark of the Oneness and that the spiritual qualities that your essence requires for full throttle living are already present; their light has simply dimmed because of trauma.
2. Know that you are guided and guarded by spiritual beings, which are present.
3. Turn this entire protocol over to whatever you call the Oneness, and rest assured you are powerfully cared for.

1. Request that the spiritual qualities that have always linked you to the Oneness be fully activated. The full set of these virtues are now beaming through your second chakra. You are being filled with light even while all unhealthy and unhelpful energies are being instantaneously transmuted.
2. Over the next few days, feel whatever feelings arise, and know that you are undergoing an alchemy of great purpose. What will arise but dreams you will be empowered to realize.
