What Happened to Your Soul Plan? (And How To Get On Track)
Jan 20, 2026
Do you sometimes feel like you are off path? I get it. There is that gnawing sensation in the gut. The whisper you can’t here. Then there is the low-grade fear that won’t go away.
That fear is a friend. It’s saying if we don’t figure out what we’re missing, we won’t ever “get there”.
Let’s look to energetics to figure out how to fill in the hollow spot and live as if each day is destined.
Overall, the sense of being astray usually relates to the soul contracts that we create before birth. Many cultures believe that we meet in a space that I call the White Zone to arrange our upcoming agenda. Here, we meet with the souls we’ll most likely interface with to decide how we’ll interact and what lessons we’ll learn. Not all teachings are oriented toward filling in the gaps in our soul knowledge. Some involve figuring out how to express our vital truths and create through service. When one of these prior vows fails to happen, we might feel the ache in our everyday life. Consequently, we might unconsciously attempt to “find” the lost dream, rather than formulate new ones.
The fallacy with exhuming our soul’s pre-life pact is two-fold. The truth is that not everything we plan before birth to accomplish during life can realistically happen. There are two main reasons for this.
- When we make our pre-life decisions and cement them through a soul contract, we’re not exactly in the state of mind—nor emotions—to make suitable choices.
- The world is a mess. Here on earth, an ideal strategy might be plain ridiculous.
Consider that the White Zone is an ethereal space. In it we’re disembodied. We aren’t emotionally attuned to what an actual agreement will feel like when we’re alive. What seems like a good idea “up there”, lacking emotional context, will not be so appealing “down here”. Did you agree to marry one alcoholic after another until you complete pattern? Four partners in, you’ve probably figured out that this isn’t a good way to learn about self-love and boundaries.
The other consideration is that the more heavenly version of a soul might be quite disfigured by the time we meet them in real life. Many of the souls in our formal spiritual contracts are members of our original soul family, the group of souls we entered the Universe with to learn in concert. Like all family systems, guaranteed that your own is a mixed bag. Souls we once trusted aren’t so honest in the everyday world. Maybe other have aged well, but it’s hard to tell, and really challenging when it feels like individuals in our lives aren’t being “their real selves”.
That point leads to my second consideration. Compacts created in the intangible, pre-birth state often fall apart in the tangible world, which is chaotic, if anything. Maybe you never met that partner that you were supposed to, so you never had our children. Perhaps that possible partner showed up and they refused you, or you turned them down. It’s not hard to see how plans can go awry between “over there” and “here”.
So, are we supposed to just hang around a feel off? No. Rather than hunt in the past for where things went wrong, however, there is another option. Start over now.
Tomorrow is dependent on today. Let your soul compose a new plan based on right now and then let destiny unfold day by day. Begin with this exercise.
- Affirm that you are undergoing this process from your spirit, the immortal self that has always been knowingly loved and supported by whatever you call the Oneness, Creator, Universe, God, or Presence.
- Let your spirit connect with the guides and guardians that have your best interest at heart.
- Request that the Oneness gently cleanse you of regrets and resentments. We beat ourselves up with regrets, believe we should have—or even could have—done things differently. We hold grudges over others through resentments, which insist that they should have operated differently. These are normal life feelings, but they don’t serve the future.
- Ask that the Oneness fill us in what whatever we’ve been missing. I call these “streams of grace”, or love empowered to heal. Whatever has not occurred is simply replaced with beauty and acceptance.
- Take respite in these wondrous sensations and then turn the future over to the Oneness and your own spirit.
- Over the next few days, pay attention to whatever feelings arise or signs that come your way that your spirit is creating a new journey-way, a destiny road built on the bricks already available.
- Know that this destiny will be a good one and trust that you’ll be guided.

In a recent Inspire Nation conversation, Cyndi Dale described 2026 as tumultuous, topical, and tingling… a year when hidden truths surface and old structures strain. Many are feeling exhausted not from doing too much, but from absorbing collective fear and uncertainty. Her reminder is simple and steady: this is a time for embodiment and grounding, not bypassing. When you anchor into your energetic core, you can stay present without carrying what isn’t yours. And as darkness rises, so does the light… often in quiet, unexpected ways.
