The Three Things Every Brand Actually Needs (And None Of Them Are A Logo)

Apr 28, 2026

This week's Tuesday Tips is extra special in that it is written by Gina Nicole, an amazing person who is also my webmaster, assistant, and marketing expert. Gina created my current website which is brilliant, and as she expresses in this newsletter, her emphasis wasn't on SEOs and all that marketing lingo. We first focused on my authentic self--my spiritual self and my own priorities. The rest of the website and branding evolved easily and quickly.

Every so often I'll be asking Gina to jump in to write features that can help any of you who run your own business or want to. But her words of wisdom, as you'll discover, are deeper than that. They will enable you to truly know and love yourself.

Blessings, Cyndi

After 15+ in business, working with entrepreneurs, healers, coaches, and creatives, I have seen the same pattern play out over and over. Someone invests in a beautiful website. They nail the color palette. They hire a copywriter to get the messaging tight. And then they look at the finished product and feel... nothing. Or worse, they feel like an imposter in their own brand.

I have pondered if this is a branding issue, or purpose issue?

I have come to believe, after doing this the wrong way more than once, a brand built from the outside in will always feel hollow. A brand that actually holds by attracting the right people and sustains you over time, is one built from the inside out.

It comes down to three things. None of them are a logo.

1. Be Authentic

Authenticity is not an aesthetic. It is not your brand colors or your font choice or the filter you use on Instagram if they don’t resonate with your soul signature. Those things can be beautiful and still have nothing to do with who you actually are.

Authenticity in branding means showing up as the version of you that exists before you see someone else’s font styles or colors you love, before fear kicks in, before you start wondering what your clients want to hear, or what your industry expects you to say.

I think about it this way — there is a version of you that is seen fully and loved completely, exactly as you are. That is the version your brand needs to be built around. Not the edited version or a version that feels safe.

There are many tools I love to use to help me know myself deeper; human design, gene keys, nine star qi, the list goes on. Even then, I look to what resonates true for me first.

When your brand is built on that foundation, you simply Iive in the present moment from that frequency. And people feel the difference immediately.

2. Be Of Service

Our wound is your wisdom, and our story IS our service.

Here is the thing about service that nobody tells you; it is not about being endlessly giving or putting everyone else before yourself. Real service in business comes from your shadows. From the things you have struggled with, regretted, resented, overcome, and transformed.

The things you have been challenged with most are almost always the exact things your best clients are struggling with right now. Have you ever heard, “your mess is your message?”

Don’t hide the hard seasons, share them! The failed rebrand, the money lost, the years of self-doubt, the deep dark night of the soul, the breaking point. Many entrepreneurs  try to hide those moments thinking they make them less credible. I would argue the opposite. Those are the stories that build trust and the moments that make someone reading your website think …”Ah she gets it. She has been where I am."

Your mess IS your message. Stop hiding it and start using it.

3. Be At Peace

This is the one which is easy to skip. We can do the authenticity work, lean into our story, then keep one foot in the past carrying the weight of decisions we regret, or our mind in the future wondering if we will ever “find our purpose.”

Peace is not passive. In business, peace is a competitive advantage. When we are at peace with all of we you are and our full story, including the pivots, failures, and seasons that made no sense, we stop second-guessing ourselves. We stop apologizing for our path and start showing up with the kind of quiet confidence that no branding course can teach.

Everything we have walked through has shaped what e carry. Every detour brought us closer to the work we are actually here to do. When we stand in that fully, without apology, our brand becomes magnetic.

When these three things align, our brand stops being something we have to manage and starts being something you simply are. The thing that radiates outward. The right clients find us. The work feels sustainable. And showing up online, in person, anywhere ... stops feeling like a performance and starts feeling like coming home.

This is the work. The deepest, most accelerated version of it came through understanding my own energy at a level most branding coaches don’t acknowledge.

If you want to go to that level, in yourself and in your brand. I cannot recommend Cyndi Dale's work enough. She is the one who cracked this open for me.

Cyndi has spent decades working with shamans across the world, making this work practical, not just spiritual theory, but something you can actually feel shift inside you.

She is currently offering a 3-part live series, Shamanic Empowerment Through the Chakras, this May. If you have ever felt disconnected from your own brand, overwhelmed by too many gifts, or like you keep letting other people define who you are — this is the work. This is where it changes. $119 for all three sessions. Recordings included. Check it out here!

This work meets you on every level. Personally, it clears what is blocking you from seeing yourself clearly. Professionally, it activates the gifts you have been underselling or ignoring altogether. And esoterically, it will connect you to the truest version of yourself, the one your brand, your clients, and your life have been waiting for.

Blessings and love,
Gina Nicole
